Hi all, this is my 4ft tank. After a month from 1st posting, background plants have grown thicker. Surprisingly, even slow growing plants like Boltitis grow fast in this tank

    Hope you like it.

Maurice, if I were you, I would be at a lost for deciding which of the 3 beautiful aquascape to submit for the contest!!

    Cheers,

p.s. Black background looks good from this picture.
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

HI bro, very nice scaping and lots of effort apply to the setup. The plants arrangement very beautiful and healthy. I presume you are ready to take part in the 2008 ADA competition. Cheers.

Hi Benny, I have finally decided to go with the dark side... and you were absolutely right about it when you discouraged me to tear off the oyama sticker

Agree with you and I really can't decide which tank to submit if I'm going to take part. Like all of them

Hi Yaya, thanks for supporting the title. At least I know I am not alone

Not yet Cpark.. Still think there is lacking of something somewhere in the tank... Also, still learning to take some good pictures.

Another lovely lovely tank. Personally I would perfer this to the other one. But maybe because the cardinal tetras really look pretty here. If I have any comments at all, the below 2 will be it:
    1) Most of your branches have moss that grow at parts, but the most outstanding branch, has full moss coverage. Not sure if it is intended, but it is noticeable and MAYBE following the others having it only partially cloth in moss will be prettier.
    2) the MM can be denser. See a bit of the bare stems. But MM is easy and fast when it comes to achieveing the dense effect. Should be way in time for competition.

Very nice and I really enjoy looking at your tanks. =)

wow, im stunned again by your scape haha. i have always wanted to make a scape like that, but didnt do so as im afraid it will turn out bad if i never dose well. so you really just dose seachem flourish and not any EI method?

Hi Checkerboard, thanks for the comments. As for the full moss coverage, it was not intended but the fissidens is spreading out of control. I can easily 'rub it off' anytime when doing water change. MM is easy to control and I was trying to blend its height and shape with other plants.

The good news for you, hebi is that the bigger the tank, the more stable it is and margin of error in dosing will not cause disaster.

You were right, no EI method for this tank after the ban. Just go slow in everything and you will be fine.

    Yes, Zenscape. I completely understand.

Plants growing too fast is a problem. To get the "perfect" look one envisioned, somehow, the plants must "coordinate" their growth. I am always unsatisfied with one part of the tank here and there last time. I am still learning on how to "coordinate" them, especially plants like bolbitis (which you can't control the size they grow to!).

Maurice.... you're coming up with great scapes man....think we should do a tank together..hahaha..

Anyway... i like this one more than the other tank....just some points because i am a perfectionist and am nickpicking.

    1) Alternanthera reineckii - is spelt wrongly...but i like how you used it to draw attention to the middle...although if it was a back plant..i would prefer it smaller leafed because it is supposed to be further away.

    2) The Ludwigia repens - could be thicker and better sculpted to form an edge sloping into the middle...instead of the somewhat sparse and flat outline it has now.

Hi Justin, sure thing to work out something together but you are still in Japan? Let me know if you have any big project in mind .

Points taken. Repens is fast growing and I will mow it to shape.

WOW your tank looks FANTASTIC!!! I'm surprised that you only dose Seachem Flourish cause all along i thought you'll need other extras like NO3 and PO4 to bring out the best in the plants. Can you share your fert regime and how much water you change a week?
