Nothing fanciful. Bought them from sea view about 2 months back at about 20 cents size. Now, they are about 2". Feeding regieme is 4 scoops of tetra bits every day plus treats of either bloodwrom or tubefix weekly. Also, not forgeting the ocassion treats of malayan shrimps and yamatos.















please note that they are neither altums or peruvians. They are the normal scalares that is commonly available.

60 rummy nose. 120 neon tetras, 3 sturistoma, 2 borneo sucker, 2 sterbai, 12 pgymy cory plus about 20 medium size yamatos and 2 pieces of 4 inch discus

I am keen to have some angelfish, but am also thinking of having a group of 6-8 tiger barbs to liven up the tank. Do you think it is wise to keep the notorious fin-nippers with angelfish? Or is it a strict no-no?

On the other hand, your angelfish does not bother the smaller fish?

I would advise against that but thn again there are success stories of angels with tigers and i believe it all depends on the size of your tank and whether are there sufficient hidding places for them.

As for disturbing small fish no isssue with that because when i introduce the angels in the tanks, the tetras were already jumbo size. However, my tetras did fall prey to the discus instead.

I have actualy witness with my own eyes my pair of discus ripping the stomach of tetras swimming in front them... Even when i was having the much larger peruvians, i also don't have problems of them attacking my tetras as my tank is pretty dense with plants and drift wood.

But somehow, the discus always manage to get them... Infact i have lost about 10 rummy nose and one bag of yamatoes to them...

Last but not least, i am glad that you guys enjoy looking at my "not so exotic" contribution.

Haha, still can't make up my mind whether to have those nippy little buggers though. But at least I don't have to worry about introducing angelfish.

And I am surprised to hear about the Discus attack. Have read from everywhere that they are peaceful giants.

Last time, I had 8 angelfishes in a 3 feet tank before. A little too crowded. One day after a water change they went on a rampage and the 20 rummynoses in there with them became food.

Wow it's really nice to see a few angels having such nice finage and some more living in harmony with each other. Many years back i used to keep them but there will always be one dominant one who will bully the rest until they die of injury or starvation. I gave up after a few attempts.

Are they aggressive with each other or has the plants given them enough hiding places that's why got no fighting?

Altum_lover76 your angel fish look great. After looking thought the photos I am tempted to get a few Angel fishes too .

But was wondering how many can I have in a 2 feet tank. Plus would they be able to get along with the current fauna? I have 5 Yamatos in my tank about 4cm each plus 5 diamond tetra and a ballon ram all also about 4cm.

Altum_lover76 you mean angel fish would actually hunt down Yamatos , cause seems like your tank has lots of hiding space.

Aggression amongst them are not noted bceause my tank is quite heavily planted and I have plenty of driftwoods/bogwoods in there too. So far, i have no problem with aggression amongst angels.

Thanks for the compliment. I do not have any suggestions as to how many you may have inside your tank but in my previous 2 feet set up, i was housing 8 peruvians with 2 pair of rams, 3 red line torpedo and about 150 malayan shrimps. They got along well except the shrimps which was meant to be food for the angels.
