Is there a 1x24 T5 HO unit?

Just out of curiosity, besides the DIY projects, are there T5 HO units that houses only 1x24w out in the market?

I have heard of the Hagen Glo T5 unit but have yet had the chance to catch it. Also, I have heard that its super pricey.

I am using almost exactly what you ask for: A 2x24W (55cm T5) "Silver Sun" (China brand) aluminum overhead lamp ... having only one of the tubes inserted (almost exactly this one, only 80cm long). So, yes, it is definitely possible to get something like you want.

The only T5 tube that could fit within a 50 cm lighting would be 8w, anything else is 55 cm or longer for the tube alone. I believe you'd be better off looking for something based on compact (G23 socket) tubes.

Thanks ankank for your advise. I think I am already using the "G23 socket" type of light as you had recommended. But, the light coverage is not enough for the whole 50cm length tank. Maybe I may get two of the same lights set to have a full coverage.

I'll still look around though, a 1x24 definitely has smaller form factor for its light intensity.

May I know the total length of the 2x15w lighting which you have just purchased? What is the brand and price? I am keen to get one for my tank of length 50cm. The normal T5 24w type has the length for 60cm tank; so not suitable for my use. Please advise and thanks.

I am guesstimating that, since there are no 15w tubes (at least in regular tube form), he meant 2x14w T5. Which are the same size as 24w T5 tubes: 55cm for the tubes alone. As I said before, the only tubes shorter than 55cm are 8w T5 tubes.
