If you can get the eheim 2211, then by all means get that as it will eliminate an ugly HOF sitting off your tank wall. But if you really want a HOF, the Liberty 100 is the best. I used it for my 10 litre tank in the past and its filtration area is awesome, very easy to maintain too. And the best thing, completely silent.

I think just get eheim. There are GEX ones that I have not seen personally. Atman is ok - cheap one. Stay away from Hailea. Very noisy.

    hi,

understand from my friend that new atman hf-600 is good ie. adjustable flow-rate and surface skimmer combine into one, check it out yourself.

    cheers,

Eheim Liberty is the quietest for sure. But the design of the outlet (where the water exits the HOF) cannot be adjusted, often creating nasty splashes if I don't top up water for 2 to 3 days. Pretty annoying actually. GEX is pretty good too but I have 1 noisy set in my storeroom

You can actually look at Ocean free one, the design is quite well done to minimise bypass which is one of the biggest problem for HOF. This is probably one of the least looked at brand, but give it a go, you wil be surprised.

Ocean free's HOF are surprising decent given the company's track record. However my main gripe is the small filter media area. So far, eheim liberty has the largest filter media area in a HOF, and that is the most important aspect of a good filter.

thanks all for the reply and i have decided to support local products by going for oceanfree. I am wondering if where sells oceanfree, because i don't really see them at C328 and polyart. And how much do they costs?

Its good to support local product.. but consider Eheim Liberty - lower power consumption, save energy and probably the quietest one... more expensive althought but won't regret one.. just my opinion...

It would probably be rather strong. I find a 2211 just right for my 27 litre 1ft cube
