advice needed lights for 2ft tank

hi all i have a 2ft tank which is abt 1ft tall and i am looking for a suitable set of lights for it. i am keeping shrimps and us fissidens in it. any advice and suggestions are welcome! thanks!

us fissidens need chiller... to grow well. Lights depends on where you put your plants and if you have a OHF like me then you have limited space on top of your tank.

PL - yet to find out
FL - yet to find out
T8 - older type of light
T5 - Newer, save alittle electricity
T2 - ex and don't think alot of place got sell.

i did abit of research while doing my own tank. Hope i gave you some info

I grow US fissiden in 2ft tank under 55W PL and at 28C temp before.

fissiden is so far the only one I saw with temperature spec written on the packaging among the plants on sales, so I assume it is critical, think it was written 26 degree C at C328.

I've grown fissiden in a standard Gex 2ft tank under 36w of light. No chiller/fan. No additional ferts or CO2 added either. The fissiden grew very well and quite fast

It's been decommissioned a few months ago. I have no idea about the average temperature as I didn't keep a thermometer in that tank.

Yes it grow well. How high are you talking about?

yet to get t5... cos i trying to use my old t8 till it goes kaput before buying a new light. got too many spare equipment left.

my tank quite low tech so can afford to use t8.

you can use the forum's aquarium calculator to calculate how much light you need for your tank. found out from a mod.
