    Hi guys,

My tank just got to 1 month old. I reared pearl scale and suckers in my tank.

Everytime when I perform water change, I realize my water looks brownish and it is not clear at all. I read somewhere it might be caused by my drift wood as I did not cook it in a pot before putting it it. But I did use boiling water to scale the dw.

I guess it might be leeching some remaining tannin into the water.

Is there any methods to regain my crystal clear water? I have bought some crystal clear liquid from seaview but I have not used it. Wanted to hear some opinions before I insert the crystal clear liquid.

All comments and opinions are welcome.

You could try using activated carbon in your filter.

Hi Leonard: my filter had a carbon media box that is inside it. The carbon had been a month in the tank. How often do you change your carbon media?

Hi mr oink: I performed weekly 30-40% partial water change. Do you think I should do pwc twice in a week? I don't really like water change as I need to put baking soda everytime to increase my KH and stabilize the ph as well. I heard u can put crushed coral to maintain the KH. Do any of the guys do it here?

    Hi Enespe,

Will give that a try. Is that available in Seaview? What the price roughly?
