they can be set how much to cool one right? maybe you set both chiller differently?
Hi everyone,
I currently have 2 sets of arctica chiller 1/10hp running at home.
However, there were some inconsistency in the kick in/out temperature.
Set A: Set at 25 deg, will kick in at 25.5 and kick out at 24.9
Set B: Set at 25 deg, will kick in at 25.4 and kick out at 24.6
Anyone able to shed some lights on the above scenario? Many thanks.

I dont think that for kick in/out temperture can be set. The +- cant be set. I read the manual already.
The kick in and kick out depends a lot of your environment and also lots of factors of your tank, weather, ambience temperature, etc.. But I think a difference of 0.1-0.3 +/- to the kick in and out timing is very insignificate right?
Main concerns to all hobbyist mainly will be how long the kick in last until it kicks out.. Hope this helps..

Does it really matter? Not like it will kill your shrimps because of that. Even the most precise equipment has it's tolerances. And these tolerances are set by man. You could always write to JBJ and ask them what the tolerances are and if need be ask them to refund or replace your set.
Chill man bro, I just wanted to see if any bros in this forum will be able to answer this inconsistency. Just feel that this tolerance is abit stretched.
I believe that somehow it has to do with the time where each set is manufactured.
And also, its really not about money. I just wanted to be clear, if i need to sell it next time, i could also explain it to the buyer. Maybe i will go bioplast and ask the uncle if no 1 have any clues.
I see.. Quite surprised that a marginal difference is able to have 5mins difference.. My Arctica chiller only has kick in difference during different ambience temperature but also I don't have a second Arctica chiller to know the difference.. Haha..
Thanks for sharing anyway.. Cheers!!!

Are both chilker used to chill 2 different tank but same mvolume? Does it sriven by same flowrate?
Both same flowrate but one is 3ft and the either is 2ft.
Set A is 3ft and set b is 2ft.
I realise something also. Arctica chiller when about to kick it, the lights will start to blink, then when it kicks in, the light is lit up.
Set b has this behaviour but not set a. Set a lights lit up and starts to cool down right away.

Have you try swapping the chiller? Chiller A for tank B and Chiller B for tank A.
I was just thinking maybe its nothing wrong with the chiller. It is just overshoot because you are cooling smaller tank and the temperature controller is not real time. I never check my Artica, but my old resun have 10 second delay, meaning the controller read the sensor every 10 seconds. So instead of stop at 24.9 it stop at 24.6. I'm just guessing here![]()
i think it issue is more the probe itself and the respond of the controller..... We all know china make controller the inconsistancy is there. My hailea 300A i sat behind my tank for about 2 hours. I notice this sometimes it cut at 22.9 sometimes it overshot 22.8 so i guess it is the probe and the controller board.
