updates :- Very disappointing
The mom mom birthed 2 weeks ago but till date I cannot find any shrimplets.
The upside of things is that I again found another berried mommy.
Arrgggghhhh.... how many more of this cycle am I gonna go through..... second round of failed berried... am I facing another 3rd round?!
The other positive side is all adult cardinal still going strong... no issue at all.
make sure there's brown diatom in the tank. I notice my shrimplets tend to hang on the walls and just pick, pick and pick
But then again, this is my 1st batch of shrimplets and they are almost a week old. Will see how it goes.....
very nice and simple tank
What is brown diatom and how to get them?
Brown diatom is those brown algae that grows everywhere. I also see my adult shrimp picking on the glass

Apparently, my tank dont have much brown diatom. Maybe I control the lighting too welll.
Well.. the next tank I have... I will keep the lighting on for a longer duration.
oic. i thought brown algea means bad water. green algea is healthy water.
i do have brown algea previously when i keep goldfish. now no more maybe bioload not high
6 months have passed since I set up this tank, think the parameter is not ideal, cause only 3 cardinal left. *sign*
Failure.
I am now thinking and setting up another tank..... pic soon
ahhh long time not play in this forum.......and long time no post ..........and long time not contact with you bro..........
ahhh good you're still keeping sulawesi shrimp. it's very hard for me, but some of my friend it's success keep them bro.....and i got the tips from the agent aristocratama people........the wild captive need 5-6 generation to make the more survive for those shrimp. and don't forget to keep only one species at tank because they're very territorial shrimp.
keep it try and be patience bro kk![]()
Welcome back bro!!! Yes your presence is very much miss.
Well, as you said, it is tough keeping them, but I am not giving up!
Ohhh... Just an update on the CRS you given me, though initially they did not do well, only three adults left, they still manage to berries, and now, I have five successful shrimp lets, growing very well.... So I guess I finally gotten the water parameters correct.
On top of that, my office has been very successful with the fire red and yellow shrimps. You would believe it, but we believe we found a special organic moss, more like fungus, that grow like algae, which the shrimps love it, and the amazing thing is, it actually improve the colouration!!
I cannot share more as we are still testing another generation of cherry shrimps to prove our theory.
I will post a picture of my yellow shrimp tomorrow, and believe me, you will ask me "how did you get that!?"
Kk, the coloration of the yellow shrimp is awesome!
Zack
WAH!!! How did you manage this? That is fantastic man! The colouration is crazy strong!
Does this moss-feed work with Fire Reds? Chocolate? Sunkist? Or just the yellow shrimps?
Wow..your yellow shrimps colour is super intense..do you have other shrimps feeding on the same moss? Care to show us some more pictures?
Aspiring to be.
Thanks Zack!!
I know... we are pleasantly surprise ourselves too.... infact... we didn't realised it until we see that the whole tank of cherry/ yellow shrimps turns super fire red and super yellow!! Got time PM me lah.. then I bring you to my office to see the 'real' thing!
