    Need help identifying this rock, seems like it is from indonesia.

    Thanks, actually i feel it looks abit like shit haha..

    Anyways I am interested in finding out if it is inert or not..
    Cause i'm planning on keeping it with sensitive shrimps

    Looks like a sort of lava rock, interesting find.

    I guess you could just put it in a small container of de-clorinated water, let it sit for 1-2 weeks, then test the water parameters and see if there are any changes in pH and GH.

    It does look like erm...droppings of a cow.
    There's a faster way to test. Drip some white vinegar on the rock and look out for fizzling and bubbling. If you need to, find a coral rock/chip and do it side by side so you can compare.
    If it fizzles, its going to affect pH, KH and TDS.

    Already tried the vinegar test, and it did not fizzle. Now doing the long winded test to be sure, do not want to have any issues since i am planning on putting it into my panda/wr shrimp tank.

    Soak in water for 2 weeks, monitor the ph/gh/tds readings.
