Hi folks, just sharing the new setup for my RES after it outgrew the starter tank:

Looks pretty happy. Water depth only 17cm as I could not find a deeper container.

Yes the lamp is exo terra, bought from PLC. But I am using 5W UVB exo terra bulbs bought from Amazon.

    Re: My RES setup

Any idea how much FGT will cost? Is it much heavier than regular plastic tanks like the one I'm using?

Had considered toyogo but not sure if the plastic quality is good enough for long term use.

No only the bulbs. Lamp is from Pet Lovers Centre. Most of the outlets carry it. Think I paid around S$35 for the lamp. UVB bulbs are around S$16 before shipping. Can also try Petmart - think they carry the same bulbs for around S$24

Have been to pet lovers alot since last year for my adopted hamster turned hamsters and chinchilla.

The price for aquarium stuff, not appealing.

    Well, no hurry.

Anyway good and happy to see people keep RES like this. Really nice

    Re: My RES setup

i also keep RES. I must say that your set up is very nice.

you may want to situate the platform in the middle of the tank though. i had a platform by the side.. once the RES went commando and climbed out.
I am balding but i am still young!

    Re: My RES setup

Haaaa... that's a great tip! Thanks! Didn't occur to me but I can totally see that happening as it gets bigger. My weekend project is set then >_< Probably a good time to do a water change at the same time as the nitrate + nitrite levels will spike with all the rearranging.

They sell only regular heat lamp bulb. If you want to buy the UVB bulb, try Pets Mart at Serangoon North.
