Hope you succeed. I'm still trying to breed without chiller.
Did up a simple 1ft cube tank in my room recently with a temperature of 24-28degrees. Not going to bother all other parameters.
Running on sponge filter, ikea light with phillips LED bulb 10W and petite nana tied on broken wooden sticks as decor. Substrate is 3cm layer of ADA soil.
6 females and 4 males were introduced after 4 days of cycling. No addictives were added during or after cycling.
Hoping to achieve a colony of a hundred within a month.

Without bothering any other parameter, you might get lucky to have them survived. Breeding needs better controlled water. God luck ")
Its always a perception CRS is a sensitive shrimp, need chiller etc etc. Yes indeed they are if you do not know the basic of having a stable tank. Well you can argued by 4 day tank may not be stable. But coming to a understanding that I have used a old sponge filter as seen in the picture is more than enough to keep everything in place.
I do not bother any other parameter is because I judge shrimps on how they behave and not on readings of the PH, NH4, NH3, N02 etc.
If your free to drop by my place Skvin2002, I will be able to show you otherwise.
Bro, have you not seen spid's other tanks and shrimp on his fb and on this fourm?? He knows whats hes doing. I wouldn't do it his way or recommend it to other noobs like me, but he has experience.
If you cant leave a positive note or encouragement? Best say nothing at all?
I agree that shrimps behavior are important. I judge my water condition based on shrimps behavior and not by testing parameters. If they are behaving and breeding normally, I don't bother to test.
But I had to do testing recently due to my shrimps not behaving normally in my tanks and found out the problem, otherwise my test kits are always in my cupboard.
I'm trying to breed crs with fan, 2 filter airpumps and some plants and dragon rocks, for about 2 months but not successful yet. Perhaps my tank is still not very matured and stable enough, so I will continue to monitor. Hope I cam succeed like you.
Hey guys... Don't get me wrong. I'm not giving any sarcastic remarks. Just stating if more parameter is monitored, you might not even wait for events to happen. Anyway, I only monitor PH. And I'm still not experienced enough to give any advice or judgement. My bad if it's misunderstood.
Not to worry skvin2002... Just wanted to say not all things are perceived what it is till you really make an effort in trying it out and experiment it.
Initially when i started switching from air con chilled into fan chilled tanks, I lost mountains of shrimp. I persist and never give up, keep trying and finally able to produce in mass in those kind of high temperature.
Well, some things or articles you read online usually do not mean that way. Take for eg Breeder A setup his tank in a given condition. It does not mean you have to follow or copy his way of keeping in order to achieve success. Try figure out on your own, though failed but tried again and to learn from the mistake.
I believe through this mean you will enjoy the process and have a very fruitful shrimp keeping journey.
Relieved that I am not the only one trying and trying crs on fan chilled tanks. I have lost quite a few shrimps too and learnt along the way. I was thinking of giving up crs on fan chilled tanks but after knowing your experience, maybe I should persist awhile more. I still have many survivors and berried ones but have not seen a shrimplet yet, so will keep monitoring the progress.
I am currently running a DIY Datech fan on 9v(Max 12v) on a 60cmx35cm. I tried running it for 12 hours and the temperature hovers at 26-26.8 in the afternoon.
I am considering getting another one or two and try running it 12hours too and see what temperature it can get.
DIYed fans have more advantages because, They are much more quiet, longer life, Choosing of which Volts you intended it to run at compared to off the shelve aquarium fans which are damn heavy and noisy like the Sunon ones.
Recent studies shows that putting recent studies in your statement have a higher percentage of trust people put into your recent studies. What?
Hi all I am planning on setting up a 1.5 ft crs tank also... Fan cooled tank.
Which brand do I guys recommend that is reliable?

No hand itchy. When encounter 1 or 2 shrimp death please do not panic, its absolutely fine for that. Please do not add addictive here and there. If face with series of death or mass death, its good to monitor the situation and administer proper "evacuation".
Ensure your tank had enough food for shrimplets. Eg. growing micro-organism, rotifiers.
Tank just set up, only had berried females. Hope this females will give off plenty of babies later.
