The 1001th thread on this topic. Haha joking.
I tried and failed using fan cooling method. In the end switched to chiller with some success so far.

tried as well, my crs started dying 1 by 1 after a month or so. not too sure whether it was because I didn't have a chiller. now I'm using a chiller, my prl are breeding like crazy
i'm still trying as well, young tank thou.
no chiller but have air con at night, so far no babies..
Tried using fan before. Cannot catch up with the water Evaporation rate give up and bought a chiller.
Singapore too hot![]()
Attachment 43479some good news on my try out!my set up is aircon at night. No fan, unless I find the temp at 26 and above when I'm back home.

wow nice! my crs also got berried when I had aircon at night and fan in the day. However ghe shrimplets kind of died off within a week after hatching
I'll update after 22 days!

it it be sooner since your temp is not constant at 26
well my CRS could not even survive 48 hrs when my chiller went down and i had a standing fan to sub it while the chiller was repaired, i can't seem to think how other people keep crs even alive without a chiller.
Just had my small shrimp tank setup for a week
Water temp is 23°C at night and 24°C daytime
Currently working on the PH levels last check 7.8
Lets see how this goes before I goes into bigger tank

How are you able to achieve 24 in the day without a chiller
The tank is in my living room but I did not on my air-con..
Think there are many factor contributing to this:
The tank is small 20x20x25
Use external filter (prevent heat from the motor from warming up the water)
Air stone is use to reduce CO2 (CO2 traps heat)
The moss in the tank also aids in CO2 reduction
The tank is place on my PC table top (Glass)
The tank is situated away from the sun, in a cool spot
I am living on a high floor above 25th, partial facing morning sun and away from evening sun hence room temp is cooler
As we speak the water temp is 23°C (Might be due to my living room fan is on)
Hope this helps guys![]()

Your room temperature without aircon can stay around 24 deg c, that is amazing.
Yes after I read about what many others face, I am quite amazed too.
25th floor? And your room temperature is 24? Wow now I know why higher units are more costly. What u have is amazing bro, do try if by using a larger size tank do u get similar results!
So when did water temp become room temp???? Bro?
BTW I got a larger tank at my office (air-condition + electricity compliments from the company)... the room temp is sub26, I kept shrimps and tetras (keep eating the baby shrimp) in it... its only recently decided to try one at home and OC only approve tank this size. Will update again when the shrimps berries...
