Hi guys, i have a standard aquazonic T5HO 1ft light set.

I'm not sure whats wrong but here's my problem.

When i try to turn on tube 1 then tube 2, it works fine. However if i try it tube 2 then tube 1, tube 1 is unable to turn on.

I tried swapping the light tube, still same problem. Any guys have any idea what is wrong and how do i fix it?

did you check with the place you buy from?
    it might be the ballast

I bought it at seaview quite long ago. It was working fine for the first 2 months, then this thing happened, i never bother to fix only.

Is it possible to test if it is the ballast problem? And where to get replacement?

The same problem happened to me too. If the wrong sequence is used one tube will not turn on. Solution is to turn off the problematic tube and allow the ballast to charge for a while then try again.

okay... never knew this problem so common!!

I got another problem with another Aquazonic T5HO lightset, this time it's my 1.5ft one. Water seeped in and blackout my house. I let the set dry over 1 week and now 1 of the tube not working. It's not the tube problem, could it also be the ballast need to replace?

Any idea how much a solite/Delighting light fixture would cost for a 2ft size? Because if more than $50, i might as well do LED..

Definitely more than $50. Aquazonic is already near the $50 mark already.

Delighting 2ft $200++ hor. Used their lightset before. Wanted to get ATI lightset but not enough funds and found DELighting ones comparable to ATI lightset and affordable too. Pair the lightset with parabolic m reflector and you can't go wrong. Still have my 2 set of 4x54w delighting lightset. Keeping mine for future use. I have another Delighting 4x39w t5 lightset on loan to a friend.

How much for ATI lightset? Never really considered it cos it's totally out of budget. Maybe can consider buying one.

Hasn't anyone tried replacing the ballast on the Aquazonic when it's broken? I'd like to see the innards to find out what's going on... xD

I would like to see someone post something on the innards of the Aquazonic lightset, no clue whats going on inside, and i can't get it open...

On a side note, guys I think i wont be using any T5 lightset recommended above, will be importing a 24w LED set. Cheaper that way!

Re: Aquazonic T5 Light Set spoilt?

I think the Quality Control for the lightset are lousy. But i cannot complain as it is the cheapest in the market. What you get is what you paid for.
Just to share my experience; i bought my 2ft from seaview in Nov 12. During payment, the uncle is nice enough to try the lightings for me. The set, one tube can be on another cannot, He ask me to take another one from the rack. This one works. 2 weeks into using, the lightset burnout and cannot be on. Luckily still under warranty. Bring back to seaview, uncle ask me to take a new one. Try on the spot, the "new" one cannot be on and since that is the last piece. My set I brought down was sent for repair. So far no problem. My guess is the china ballast is changed and a singapore tested and fixed ballast was used.

So the conclusion is 4 sets tested, 4 sets have problems. So buy it under warranty.

If anyone has a broken unit, I'd like to tear it up and document the process, as well as any possible fixes. My 1st post on AQ :
