Yes, i am thinking of planting Jap. Hairgrass too!![]()
where'd you get your wood from? i've been hunting high and low for suitable wood for my 25cm cube...but to no avail![]()
This little bogwoods i sawn from my bigger bogwood which currently inside my apisto tank.I usually will buy those branchy bogwoods, and sawn out those nice branch which i wanted.
No caves for the apisto?![]()
You can if you dare to fail - Stan Chung
Because it is for the future apisto fries~![]()
Oh so its a fries tank.
I thought it too small for a pair of Apistogrammas. Very nice driftwood arrangement. What variant of java fern is that? Narrow leave java fern?
I am not sure what fern is that.
Prepare this tank and cycle well first!
You really should add more HC. It'll fill in faster.
Call me Brian.
P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.
There are very high chances of it melting. That's the HC changing to submersed conditions. More HC will also mean higher survival rate and more chances of it spreading.

My HC are in submerge form.
Other than lighting, another worry for me is the temperature, as i do not have fan for this tank.
you must let me know if 13W lighting is enough for HC. there's a discussion on another thread about light intensity for HC and it was recommended that at least an 18W bulb is used, and that even at 22W with 2 11W bulbs, it may not be as good as a single 18W. so if 13W is good enough for your tank, it'd be great news for a number of us...i've been thinking of using jap hairgrass for my nano (13W light) due to the high requirements of HC...but if i can use HC, i'd do it without a 2nd thought!
But it also very much depends on the tank depth. Currently i am putting the 13W clip on PL light very near to the surface.
Because i got an experience for my 2ft HC tank whereby original lights of 3 x T5HO which i bought from NA was insufficient.
I modified the light reflector, light stand and change the transparent cover to glass cover, my HC doing well!!
I also planing to get some Japanese hairgrass from NA tomorrow.![]()
Today added some Japanese hairgrass on the back.
Looks more natural?

I think the scape would look better if you the 2 pieces of moss ball you put in front of your driftwood and tie some moss to the rocks
You means remove the moss ball and replaced with moss?
Actually i tied some moss on the right rock.
Yup. Tie some one the rocks on the left too would be good. Or maybe replace the moss ball with anubias var. nana.
