Thinking of getting dwarf hatchet fish for my tank. One question is will they actually jump out of the tank? or what conditions will prompt them to do that?

It'll be best to either have a tight cover without any gaps for the tank, or at least lower the water level.
The switching on and off of the lights will also cause them to jump. It is best to have a cover. I lost 6 of mine ... all jumped out when the lights went off.

Was looking for mid-top swimmers and thought that these hatchets look really interesting. Will keep a look out for some other species
