hey Plantanoob, going back a bit i know. and sorry, but only just noticed.

On your intital post, its the seventh picture down. What is that big plant you used at the back. Light green with either lighter green tips or white edges. That is exactly the plant i have in my tank and i've been told its none aquatic. Wanted to know if you could shed any light on its name and/or how well it grew in your tank.

Would really appreciate any names you could give me on this. Cheers.

I have no idea what that plant is too. However, I do know that they melted away slowly, but surely. Some others did mention that it's non aquatic in some other threads (oither than yours) though.

i saw you selling trays of glosso the other day after you harvested, was assuming its was all gone. Guess you left with a fair bit to complete the beautiful foreground

Ah~ Yes yes. I get it now. Yup. I sold off half of that and gave away the other half to my friend. But I did keep a handful of them to replant. Now that handful has become trays once again.

It obviously must be none aquatic then. Luckily i ordered plants online yesterday, so they shall be with me next week sometime. Mine are showing signs of melting already, some leaves are going transparent.

Thats a bit unlucky. You didnt have them out the tank did you?

When i rescaped mine last year i put all my fish and shrimps in a polystyrene box. Low and behold the shrimps could walk out the box, up the side and down across my carpet. Was shocked to see them crawl up out the water and off making a break for freedom! Had to put a wooden lid over it whilst i did my rescape.

No idea if you have taken yours out of the tank, or you've jsut lost them within the tank.

Seeing that you have an extensive fert regime, so not sure if you came across this. It is possible that your shrimps are exhibiting the same behavioural as ryan. However, its not conclusive, just something to help you try out in the meantime.

It's been a while. Busy with graduation and now, work.

Got tired of flame moss, so decided to replace them with spiky moss.

Thanks Jervis. I'm selling the flame moss now. Do you want them? Fully grown.

Anyway, nope, I don't trim the rotala frequently. I trim them only when they've reached the water surface (ok.. maybe after some weeks of procrastination). I forgot to take the latest pictures before trimming. That's why they're missing from the background. Yup. This time I trimmed the bunch on the left to half its height to allow for a denser growth to match the bunch on the right.

Hi, I'm not using that anymore, because my current filter is too strong for it. I'm thinking of getting a bigger and better external reactor though. Any recommendation for a cheap and good one?
