Same here, I start taking photo from 10pm until 2am, until where all the fishes is in group. The fishes are not cooperating with me

One hand pressing the remote, the other caring the hair dryer, and I use my leg to scare the fish. Lucky enough I have spare tripot for the flash, need to buy couple more of tripots for flash, cheapo one will do.

Haha. I laughed out loud when I read this

Try using your toe to press the remote shutter on the floor and one hand to scare the fish and the other to hold the hair dryer. Safer this way

I normally spent half - 1hr maximum to take pictures. If not satisfy, next day will try again.

Hey Maurice, thanks for your comments and encouragement.

Well, it all boils down to what attract the judges. Mine's don't, so it don't deserve better score

I have since decommisioned this tank, converting it to a pleco haven. Hopefully I manage to find some alternatives to express my 'passion' for aquascaping, coming back again for IAPLC 2009!

For my photo taking, I was using a towel to scare the fishes, like beating flies off. Too bad, my fishes though it was feeding time.

I can imagine you trying to balance on one foot while the other foot scares the fishes.

Carlfsk, your tank is very nice. A white background, crystal clear waster, blower and good photography equipment (or skills) will make it even better.

    Cheers, Christophe

For mine, while taking the pictures, my mum was walking through and fro in front of the tank...thus the tetras swimming in school.

Any idea when the top 30 photos will be made public. Need to get some inspiration for a new tank. Or just curious to see the master pieces!

    Cheers, Christophe

    Carl,

Very impressive and original. I felt should have gotten better ranking.

This is natural . I don't know how to judge but I guess this scape might be penalized for the lighting/ photography.

Agree! Vincent's tank is very nice! Very clean with a serene effect.. no need to mess up the surface with hair dryer, I guess
