Why are my Sakura Shrimps not breeding?

- Planted 2 1/2 ' Sakura Shrimp only Tank with about 30 shrimps.
- PH6.7
- Temp 28c
- Co2 injection and Dennerle fert regime.

They, confirm male and female have been with me for months but dont see them carrying eggs. What could be wrong?

Are your females having spawn yet? It's like a yellow mark in the neck/back. If not, you may feed more protein. If yes, try lowering the water temperature or make some greater water change with cooler water. This stimulates molting and molting often is assumption for offspring.

perhaps give them some more time .

Temp 28c might be to high for breeding. Try lowering the water temerature.

i inject CO2 and plants usually start to bubble after about 4hrs. i guess O2 should be ok ba.

hmm if you want to lower to 23 degree, you have to get a chiller given that singapore's temperature is quite high.maybe you wanna get a fan instead to try first as it is much more cheaper and able to lower the temperature for about 1 to 2 degree.

oh. thats quite true. I have the opposite problem. my room temp in summer is only 20. so i might have to get a heater during winter, or blast my heater throughout. sigh

ok i would rather be in ur situation as a chiller can increase the eletricity bills for each month and a chiller cost a few hundreds while a heater cost ard 20 bucks.

i wonder if it's the fert regiment, though very hard to tell.
mine's low tech and i don't dose much.

thought temperature of 28C should be alright, as mine used to be 28-30C (months ago without a fan) and they bred.
now i have a fan at 27C and they are breeding, but saw one full of eggs being devoured by others last night .... also don't know why it suddenly died.

With that high temperature plus CO2 injection likely to bring more harm than good to your shrimps.

If you wan see your shrimps breeding, please reduce your tank temperature and your C02 input.
