On the surface, it might look ok but in reality the non-indigenous and indigenous species are competing for the same resource that are limited in availability in the water catchment area. What's more the non-indigenous species are given a free ride to the particular living habitat that the indigenous species have been living and multiplying for years or decade and have evolved to suit the natural environment of that particular area. And to make matter worst, some indigenous species only occur at certain part of Singapore and not anywhere else and the introduction of foreign species will put a strain on their natural behaviour such as breeding and feeding. Thus lowering the number of the indigenous species.
