yes. Im reducing gh now by doing 1.5l distilled water change a day out of my 80l water. bought my gh down from 8 to 7 after over a week.

ph 4.6 to 4.8
kh 0
GH 7
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 5
temp 25
tds 180 (overdosed this the high gh)
I'm told gh needs to be 6 at my ph level.
left 2 crs.
My tds is about 300... haha
Lol understand better have a higher tds than breeders to reduce osmosis shock. but need to maintain gh
getting RO this week then I'll do something drastic. Spent over $1400 on this setup. cannot fail!

Guess so. First thing solve my ph issue. I rather have a normal ph than an extremely unusual one that even the products manufacturer can't answer why.
If you're willing to spend more on soil I suggest you get RAC soil from ac. They have been proven to cycle with 3 days. You can ask the shop owner how it's done also
Maybe will pay alvin a visit. I'm considering 3 substrate.. ada, crs haven's or the rac.
If you want to cycle for 6weeks minimum but have a soil that will last long go with ada. I personally don't like crs havens soil, the ph fluctuated every month had to decomm after 4 monthz due to shrimp death. Rac has proven to be very good, I also liked borneowild plant soil
Lol I'm keeping my hands of borneowild after this episode. so have quite a bit of their products left.
Hi, i been using borneowild plant soil with Ada soil, First few months like hell, I introduce shrimp after 2 months cycling but still encounter shrimp death every two days. After so many months of shrimp death, i put in sponge filter, total i put 3 big sponge filter, then after that no more death. Been a month now and i didn't even change water at all. So far so good, now my king kong even breeding well. I don't know it's the sponge filter working or my tank stable already.
Have anyone using sponge filter too?
I also use borneowild plant soil, added shrimps after 2 months and they all seemed fine. 1 month later they started to die 1 every 2 days after a total of 15 death they suddenly stopped dying. Now after 3 month with no deaths, they're breeding well and have some shrimplets

Nope as long as your soil is still working it will be 0-1
