I did trim once but i guess not deep enough. Those HC at my foreground grows back real fast ! As for trapping of dirt and stuffz, i cant really tell but the area seems clean enough for me...haha

As for fert regime, ive only started dosing them on the 5th week onwards. Im only using Tropica Plant Growth + Seachem Potassium. Im essentially a lazy chap and sought to use the most convenient method...wahaha

That said, im using ADA soil + ADA Power sand + a mixture of 4-5 types of ADA minerals (i really don't remember what are the names of those minerals) prepared by the good folks of Fishy Business. I would assume my soil foundation are pretty solid to begin with, hence the good growth?? Haha

Very healthy growth! How's your shrimps reacting to the co2 and fertilizers?

To be candid, I think they are adapting so-so only....I still have my fair share of casualties every now and then (maybe 1 or 2 death every week or two or so, thereabout), am not sure if this is a norm for a planted scape like mine ?? I understand planted tank parameters are more challenging to control, as compared to a pure shrimp tank...

That said, my main focus has always been the scape, and that is why all my shrimps are never more than $6 a piece.... wahahaha

    Looks great!

Btw, i noticed you mixed the different colors and variations of the Neocaridina species shrimps together, ie, sakura, fire reds, yellow, rili etc. I'm guessing you're aware of it and don't mind them interbreeding and producing random/wild offspring?

I know what you mean... those shrimps do have such a wide variety of rich colors, its nice to observe them all in a group.

Finally, cant stand the sight of my algae stained hoses and lily pipes, went to get a pair of pipe brushes and got down to work. Now it does look brand new Brings me back to the initial time where i was mesmerised by the clean look of lily pipes in a planted tank...
