what HOF are you using? is it a fluval C series? if it's a C3 I think it can throw water quite far at the top. what I would do is hang the fluval on the left/right wall of the tank, get some flow across instead of the back wall (slight difference from bro muar Chee), and then put that skimmer on the opposite side to give it that extra pull and flowback.

aww shucks they finally stocked those hang on canisters? damn

Yeah, Ideally is to hang on the left side wall, while right side is the surface skimmer.

I guess if you do get it, it'll be to replace your current filter or to be used alongside with it to improve filtration capacity and circulation. The Top-Aqua filter also comes with a surface skimmer at the intake pipe, so it does the skimming job too.

The adjustable outflow pipes on such filters will definitely give you much more flexibility to direct the flow and create a better circulation pattern around the tank, it'll be almost the same as using a set of outflow pipes from a canister filter.
    Dear plant fairy,

It's Xmas time.. I hope and really hope.

i guess its shopping time tomorrow.
Have stop myself from going seaview for the last 2 weeks..

i guess the OF surface skimmer is a better choice for me. Maybe one day when my HOB break down, i then will switch to such cool external filter.

Thanks guys, you have been really helpful.

I only left with 2 weeks to get this tank up and going, before i will be away for my wedding.

Yes. It will be very awesome. I know. I bought an new camera that has retro-styling.

I really would love to help. I mean what better opportunity to try something that I think I know on another person's tank rather than my own tank.

But I already made commitments to my family since the school holidays have started and with you preparing for your wedding, I am not sure if we are able to align our schedules. But I am more than happy to try to work out something with you.
