The snail lasted only two days, left the shell tho is morningseems like it is more sensitive than the cardinals ..

Yeah, horned nerite snails are good for dealing with green spot algae (though their actual efficiency depends alot on the rate of algae growth too). The horned ones stay small size so they can climb on small leaves and clean them too.
They do come in different colours and patterns, other than the common black and yellow striped ones, there are also those with reddish and orange stripes too, some even have just a solid single color too. Quite interesting to collect the different variants.

Seems like its operculum (the "door" in the shell) is shut tightly, so the snail is still inside the shell... maybe its hiding from something or avoiding certain water conditions (ie. acidic water, Co2). There is a chance it might still be alive, you could try transferring it out to another container or tank and see if it responds and recovers (that has worked for some of my nerite snails).
If its still the same after a few days, then most likely its dead.

Are you guys referring to this type of snail ? My nerite snail just close it's door on me, and now I found this thriving

It looks like either bladder or pond snail. Very invasive and reproduce very very very fast if there's lot of food. It can be surface feeder. @_@ It took me 3 weeks to remove all from my tank. XD I just introduced 2 into my tank and I ended up removed 100+++ of them.
A puffer would make quick work of them.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.

I guess the smaller type on the right will do?
The bigger one looks menacing and I worry will harm the cardinal.

The larger ones on the left (green spotted puffer, Tetraodon nigroviridis) will eat the snails and also bite/eat your small fishes and shrimps (and it grows to 10+ cm size)... the smaller ones on the right (dwarf pea puffer, Carinotetraodon travancoricus) will also eat the snails and also likely nip at the other fishes tails and shrimps.
Both will tend to be potential trouble makers in a community tank... just that the smaller one does abit less damage.![]()

I prefer to avoid both and seek other possible solutions instead.
Assassin snails can help to reduce and manage the pest snail population too, they could be considered a less disruptive snail control option... though not as fun to watch as dwarf pea puffers hunting snails and circling around their prey like mini attack helicopters.![]()
Honey moon over liao! Besides the snails , start seeing long filament algae, (grown to 4 inches long over the weekend !) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1435136369.045128.jpg

Cardinals very hard to survive once disease hit on them.... treat them with med they cannot take it, and the disease will tend to spread to other cardinals also.... looking at your pic, I see many white spots on stone.... are they snail eggs?
Oh sad ...
The spots are paint drops! likely when Hdb painted the corridor as the rocks were lying there for a long time...realized it only after they are in the tank

Snail problem seems solved by diligently picking them out when they appear .
The 3 infected cardinals were removed and the rest looked fine.
Hair glass spreading together with hair algae
Will do the blackout over the weekend , and hope that the hair algae will be gone
