Cacatuoides Triple Red Spawning (Pic Intensive)

Hi Guys, was lucky enough to witness the spawning of my cacas when i came back from work today. The whole routine took around 20mins before the female chases the male away.

Female inviting male into the ceramic pot

At this point of time, afew eggs can be seen attached to the walls of the pot, male is probably fertilizing the eggs.

Male taking a break, more eggs can be seen now

Female inviting male to fertilize her eggs again

Notice that the female is upside down. A large cluster of eggs can now be seen attached to the top side of the pot

Avoid using flash or other action that might scare the female, or it might eat the eggs.

Excellent and rare photo sequence of the entire process.....Congrations on your spawn buddy.....hope to see the female herding its free swimming fries soon!! hehe
BTW, thats a very nice male specimen too!!

Male from benetay. The moment the fries are free swimming, they'll be transfered to the fry tank. Thats what i always do whenever the eggs hatched. Or else the fries becomes food for the male or other community fishes...
