    hi guys,

setting up a new 4 footer. so decided to capture every single process into here.

All begin when the tank i ordered from Wee Yang arrived. Very good and beautiful tank.

The result obtain from hunting of bogwood for 3 weeks. Got it from NA

Custom made cabinet to blend the entire tank into my house design. Quite a number of flaws with the cabinet.

thanks bro, just starting to get interested in aquascaping and it is really fun. Just that i had some problem using a tweezer to plant the plant down to my magic soil now. Perhaps would change to a tank something like yours when i get more interested.

It is really nice and fit yr house colour. Will the changing of water or planting be even harder?

oh it don't sink easily? OMG... can i tied lead weight to it? will that be harmful to the living creature in it?

changing water i still not sure...haven't start the project yet. but i think it won't be easy planting cause the stand itself is 3.5 feet tall. anyway i got provision for changing water. 2 holes on each side for me to insert a hose and suck water out. will let you know the agony if there's any. lol

It better to pour hot water over the driftwood/bogwood to remove stain etc. Let it soak in water for a few days, change water daily. The idea is to remove tannin and let it sink easily. Nice custom tank.

will be getting a external filter this week. what will be the best flowrate for a 4 footer? as both the inlet and outlet will be located on the same side of the tank. worried about the water circulation. any bro can advise? i also want to consider the future need if i want to upgrade the tank with a chiller.

Soulfinder, you could tie a large rock to the wood to make it sink. As for the chiller option, you'll need to drill a few hole on the cupboard for the in and out tube.

Chiller need good ventilation, so maybe BFG suggested to put the chiller outside cabinet.

    Sequence is correct.

you may want to consider fluval fx 5. RRP is about $400 with full media.

i feel that you can add in 1-2 more bogwood. because your current bogwood is not very branchy. so may end up your scape look very empty...since it is 4ft. a lot of space to aquascape.

Planning to get a chiller after much discussion with my minister of fincial. she finally give me the green lights. Any suggestion in what brand to get, saw a number of brands in market.

i need something that's not too expensive and quiet as my tank is just outside my bedrooms.

maintenance advise are needed to, very new to this new piece of equipment and after reading all those threads regarding chiller it made me more confuse....

Maybe you want to create something like exaust pipe, I saw you have a ventilation at the top.
