Dropped by NA dis this afternoon. Bought some stuffs. Happened to see Mr.Cool new fan design. I believed this works better due to the different type of fan, its like those fans in those 19" server racks! power sia... contemplating of getting it but need to see whether i can slot this fan for my cube tank.

Synethesis, are you refering to Mr Aqua cool or the Mr cool fan which attaches on the side with a rectangular funnel right onto the water surface ?
hey let me know whether its good too =)
Is it the one that works like hairdryer style? I find it too expensive, there's a cheaper alternative model selling in Polyart.
ya, im not sure but i was refering to the hairdryer styled cooler but am not sure what is its name.
i was there ard 1pm lah bro...heheheh, was at colorful too.
torque...i'm not sure of the brand lah. but its the whole rectangular box that we need to place above the water with the brackets provided...
nope...its definitiely not the hairdryer type, the ones some of the bros here using. i believed its new... the fan blade is not the normal ones, its cylindrical...

I think I know which one you are talking about. Was contemplating of getting that last week and the brackets are adjustable. But what puts me off was the weight. It feels heavy and I don't want to stress my tank too much.
i was actually afraid of the bracket giving way! and there goes my precious money...
unless i can customise my own bracket....hhhmmm...

Its design is like those Tower Fan in your house. The Good is silent and wide spreading of wind. But drawback is bulky and the wind coming out is not strong.
Bulky yes... not strong? i didn't manage to test it out...

If it's strong powerful and silent, why not? I'm keen to find out more. Anywhere I can see the picture without going down to the lfs? My only other issue is the bracing part as my 3 ft tank is the Nisso which has thick bracings all over the tank, originally meant for the cover. Currently, I'm just placing the fan resting at a corner between the bracing and the magnum light. Anyone knows where I can custom-make brackets for fans?

Ya, think i remember the one with the air brackets, comes attached to the sides with chimney shaped tunnels right over the tank edge and goes to the surface of the water for cooling. CHan 's wife recommended me those the last time i went hunting for a aquarium fan.
At 'O7 Aquarama, the promoters were telling me that it can lower temperature a further 1 to 2 degrees compared to the conventional CPU fans we're using.
Ah, what you guys are talking about is a squirel cage fan. It's used in airconditioners as the blower is alot more quiet as compared to a propellor blade type. The motor has got to spin at a hight rpm for high cfm(cubic feet per minute) output, so the blower has to be very well balanced.
Ya abit troublesome, which is why i just DIY mine from old pc fans. Silent and it gets the job done.

After careful measuring the tank cover opening, i don't think i can fit the fan on top lah...schucks!
