Green water came visit me. will sesista helps?

shouldn't be a problem. But why don't you get it change? analog timers are cheap. Your temperature should have changed by now since the 24hrs fresco, furthermore the weather is rather cooling for the last few days. You should check with another thermometer

Perhaps you can try a 50% water change, blackout for a couple of days and no feeding. After that, slowly increase the photo-duration while maintaining CO2 and nutrient levels. Good luck.

Sheesh.... work is really keeping me away from my hobby
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

first day
17 days later

24 days after setup.
temp: 27 without lights and 28.5 with lights.
ph : 6.5
co2 : approx 10bps
A smaller version of Bolbitis heudelotii, downoi, nanas and petite nanas are added.
After 24 days of setup the water is still kinda blurrie and protein film still there. Think my molies are not doing a good job. Casulities till date are 7 clown killies and 1 oto. I did them a great deal of injustice for adding them in too quickly (2 weeks after setup).
Hopefully the downois will not melt on me this time round always had problem with this cabbage plant (named by my wife).![]()
I will expect to see some algae growing on my nanas soon. Under my 440 watts of lightings and the plants hasn't grown tall enough to provide shelter for them. Any bro can advise me how to prevent this?
Any comments good or bad are welcome.

you can increase your plant mass and reduce your photoperiod during inital stages of your setup.
Than gradually increase the timing to 10hours.
you can do more water changes to remove excess nutrients.

I'm currently at 4 hours on, 2 hours rest and 4 hours on photo period. weekly water change. Will this helps?

think you can do 2 x 50% water change per week for first 2 weeks, than for next 2 weeks just do 50% once a week. after one month after the tank stablise do 30% water change per week.
For lighting try just 4hours/daily 1st week. than 2nd week 6hours/daily
3rd weeks onwards 8to10hrs.
This is just a rough guide i use. It depends on your fertilizer dosing, lighting and co2 also.

Need not be worried with the cloudiness.
As your bacteria starts to colonise the filter due to the bacteria dormant in the soil, the water will become clear. What's causing the cloudiness is the floating bacteria.
You can help to reduce by introducing more bacteria and it will clear up in no time.

Came back from holiday after 4 days and to my horror, my timer gone mad again. Lucky no green water or algae boom. Maybe it's due to my glosso which have covered my entire foreground and my floatings frog bit which covered 1/4 of the surface.
I dismantled the timer and found a resistor inside. Is 500 watt too much for a timer rated 3k power to handle? Any bro here got similar experience as me?
Please help me.

I found this baby when i was doing a water change this afternoon. Only manage to find 1 of it. Maybe the rest become fish food for my 2 ballon mory, 20 galaxy and 2 clown killie.

Oh it isn't. it's a miniture of the clown killie. Sorry for the bad picture as i only had tmy camera phone with me

After fighting a losing war against the timer and my light. I decided to go for a relay and timer set similar to the picture. Hope this is solve all my problems and Sim Lim Tower sells them.

After a long battle with the timer, finally i got everything under control.
Tank spec: 4 x 2 x 2
Lights: Hopar T5HO x 2 sets, 4 x 54W in a set. 8 hours daily
Water PH: 6
Temp : 28
CO2: approx 10 BPS
Fert: weekly with JBL Ferropol
JBL fert
Tank after 7 weeks.
Feel free to comment on the layout.
wow 8x54w...that's quite overkill for a large tank![]()

very nice foreground.
think you need to trim your background plant to make it more bushy.
Chee Yong

Will do but i got a question about triming stemmed plants.
When you cut, do you cut them to your required height?
Normally the top portion of the stemmed plants will look nicer, do you guys dig out the bottom part of the stemmed plants?

just trim off the top portion, leaving the bottom still rooted in.
you may need a few trimmings to have your desire scape you want.
Not adviseable to uproot as it will cause dust particles or base fertiliser to be floating around and landing on your plants causing algae problems.
