Not unless you don't mind the shrimp population shrink in rapid rate. Apisto will snack on them.

for some more aggressive apistos, they won't just eat the shrimp. i've had 2 fish kill shrimp for fun. they would attack then leave the carcasses to rot without even eating

Apisto are territorial and agressive, i wouldnt be surprise if they kill your shrimps for game or for food. Not advisable to keep them together. Do you have an existing tank setup with them or thinking about starting one ?

Shrimps will become snacks for your Apistos. But if you can provide lots of hiding spaces then some of your shrimps might survive. Personally i wouldn't take the risk on the more pricey shrimps like CRS.

I'm not sure whether this is OT but I believe you should set up the tank first before you get the fish. Apistos are not known to do well in newly setup tanks. Also if you are housing a pair in a small tank then one of them will probably get killed by the other or die of stress.

    Hi Delwin,
    Welcome to apisto keeping.
You have been following the forum, by now, you would have an idea what you like.
    How about the A. baenschi?
Great looking fish with nice colours and nice dorsal.
It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
