looking great, another expensive setup coming soon.

I'm back! Its been sometime since I stopped doing planted tanks, but just kind of felt the urge to start one a few months back so started to source and gather equipment to start on this project.
Decided to start putting things together over the weekend, and will be using this thread to document the tanks progress, and hope fully everything goes smoothly so I can submit it for next year's IAPLC.Still waiting for the substrate to arrive but did some wood scaping first.

nice to have you back! looking forward to the setup and growth of this tank. Using just plain wood?

Wow, this is great. Very nice. Wondering what's the damage like for this kind of setup? Care to share.

Yeah, still living in the west, coffee sounds good. =)

Hmm... Very promising indeed!![]()
Is your lighting hanging bar solid stainless steel? Wont it be too heavy for the cabinet to hold it?

Solid hollow? the bar end looks like solid cover, any close up picture would be great. i'm afraid the bar is also resting on the tank from the picture i see, that would be risky. is it machine bend or you bend it yourself, looks like there's a budge at the bending part. i got a similar one i did for my new tank setup also, done by machine bend. i leave a gap about 5cm away from the tank and cabinet. Here's the picture of the bar.

Hahaha..Yeah, the end part that makes it look solid is inserted in. Did not custom the bar, got it from LFS so it was already machine bent when i got it.
Mine is not lying on the tank too, cause the bar holders were drilled onto the back of the cabinet and there is some allowance.
but thinking of changing the lights. I think its kind of overkill for my plants.
if anyone is interested, please do contact me.
anyway. today's update of the tank.
