The ferns in my SA tank have only been there a couple of mths, so far so good, no signs of them wilting. I have a couple of java ferns in my other non co2 tank as well, those have been in there for 1yr+ and they are fine. What I have notice is they just dont sprout many new shoots in a low tech environment, which is a good thing cos java ferns arent exactly the prettiest when they propagate =)

Thanks Kenny. If you are referring to the bottom plant on the left tank, they are mini hair grass. The moss are Taiwan moss I believe. The ones on the rocks are riccia.

Cos I'm struggling with what to do with my "confused" tank.... too many plants I bought in a whim. Now not sure what to keep and whether to do a driftwood tree idea like yours. Here's my setup I only started 2 weeks ago.

IMHO, maybe you can sort and plant your plants according to the type of growth. Foreground, middle and back.

What plants do you have? Is that an amazon plant on the left rear? I hear that they can outgrow a 30G tank.
Looks like Amazon sword to me. Even with low lights, they send runners like crazy. Amazing growth rate.

To be honest I don't know. But ya it is growing super big quite fast. Might cut out the big leaves soon.
