Can visit me if you want to see the real thing in action.

The fish loves the current, it make them strong and healthy, if they tired they will rest in the plant bed, but i often see them swim against the current, they just loves it. Especially the moss, it clear away the debris and grow healthy moss, you know what i mean, they grow massive and green.
thats just what i want to hear!
seeing your 2ft using a 900 l/hr rated wavemaker + filter w/o overly powerful flowrate problems, gives me assurance that i can add it into my small tanks w/o much issues too

You stay in Admiralty? I'm staying around the area too. Another user Spartan also using the same nano wavemaker with filter also. Check his latest journal.

I'm interested to see how do you place it? In my opinion Eheim 2026 filter(950L/hr) and "Hydor Korolia Nano - Wavemaker Pump (900L/hr)" kind of over kill for 2ft tank. Will the fish have problem in swimming? are you using chiller?

Not only i'm using but another user Spartan also using wavemaker and filter together, see his tank full of life of green plant. I thought i already show and answer in the latest pic and question? No chiller, only fan. Not necessary to have chiller, waste of $ to me. Currently using 103W of lights, kind of wasting to me. I'm thinking of DIY my light, to make it cooler and energy saving also with better result, now looking for material. With good circulation, it do bring down the temperature fast using fan, the only thing i need to do is to topup around 2-3L of water everyday, is still very cheap to me as compare to chiller. Btw i dont age the water, direct from the tap to the tank in less than 1 min.

    Honestly I can't imagine I was using eheim 2217 (1000 l/h) for 2ft tank and found it too powerfull, downgrade it to 2215 (620 l/h). So when I read 950 l/h + 900 l/h, I'm shock . But I guess you prove it to be ok.

By the way chiller is not as expensive as I previously though, my CL-280 for 3ft with MH tank only cost me $10 per month. Ok, the starting cost mabe expensive but running cost is reasonable.

Those wavemaker type of powerheads do not deliver high pressure flow like those of normal powerheads which is why they are suitable for planted tank application that needs high flowrate.

Yes, you are right Peter. And they recycle back the CO2 bubble, now the pearling is twice as much as before and all the plant get pearling including those in compact growth. The plants and fauna loves it, makes them exercise and healthy.

No, they dont generate heat, is only 5W. So far i think only Aquamarin(click to get to their website) selling it, cost less than one blue note, they sell like hot cakes from what i know. I get to know this when i surf other forum, those professional taught me to use this to circulate the whole tank. Now i dont get any algae except when my CO2 going to use up, then i realise BBA starts to roam in. So far this is the cheapest and best for planted tank.

Tom Barr has been preaching on the need for good current (flow) with the use of CO2 for sometime and recently found Amano on the same page with the "Water flow in Nature Aquarium" topic on his site.

Polyart does carry those wavemaker style powerheads as well but if you don't want more "junks" inside your tank, you should size your filter so that it makes a lot of current and all you need to do is to keep it clean so that the current stays consistent.

Yes, good circulation/CO2/nutrients help to bring them to plant surface, only stagnant water will prevent unhealthy tank, sometime they call it death spot and people starts to confuse what went wrong. When filter starts clogging and CO2 rate drops, algae and etc... starts to create malfunction tank.

When i bought it, it only left with few sets, they told me they had bring in 100 or more sets and left with few only.

So far i think Hydor nano size for the flow rate is the best, the rest the flow rate goes more than thousand+++, and is pretty big.

The KORALIA 1 1500lph version is fine and is not blasting flow like those normal powerheads.

I would recommend 2 Hydor Korolia Nano instead of one big size, place each at one corner, it would create 2 turbine flow at each corner. Of course that is for bigger size tank. Algae actually dont like good current.

    i guess that explains it
i kept on thinking the flow created will be the same type of high pressure flow and never went ahead to find out more
    thanks for the enlightenment

I stay around Woodlands also. KS ChongPang oulet, they sell too expensive stuff as compare to the rest of the shop, i usually buy only fish from them but not now anymore, still prefer Y618. If i'm not wrong they dont have, and alot of shop dont sell the nano one instead they sell KORALIA 1 1500lph version onwards, Y618 sell KORALIA 1 1500lph version onwards but not nano.
